Airbus Space Systems, Lampoldshausen Showcase

Showcase of spacecraft propulsion systems from Airbus Space Systems, Lampoldshausen.

Solar system
ASL, Lampoldshausen.
Space propulsion for any mission.

The Showcase features notable examples of the diverse range of space propulsion system designed, developed and produced at the Lampoldshausen Propulsion Centre. Core competencies are in the fields of electric, cold gas, monopropellant and bipropellant propulsion ranging from 0.02 N to 500 N thrust.

As featured in the Showcase, propulsion systems from lampoldshausen are used for a diverse range of missions and applications, including:

  • Orbital satellites.
  • Orbital platforms.
  • Re-entry vehicles.
  • Interplanetary spacecraft.
  • Automated logistics vehicles.
  • Upper stage AOCS systems.
  • Launch vehicle roll control systems.

Since the 1960's, the Lampoldshausen team have been supplying propulsion systems, subsystems and components in support of hundreds of major international spacecraft. An insight into these spacecraft and their propulsion systems and components supplied by the Lampoldshausen centre is given in the online Heritage Catalogue

Propulsion Sub-System and Components

In addition to complete propulsion systems, sub-systems and components are also supplied either off-the-shelf or tailored to customer specific requirements. Typical sub-systems and components include:

  • Hydrazine thrusters.
  • Bipropellant thrusters.
  • Thruster clusters.
  • Propellant tanks.
  • Apogee boost motor kits.
  • Propulsion system valves and components.
